Land of Eem Actual Play | Season 4 Premiere – The Rickety Curio & the Dangers of Terror Island

Season 4 of the Land of Eem Actual Play Podcast begins with a narrow escape and a bold new quest. After defeating the Daggerheart pirates, Galen and Riley dodge the fallout of pirate politics and uncover a powerful relic tied to Galen’s family—the Rickety Curio of Infinite Doors, a magical cabinet from the Age of Flame capable of opening portals to any object's place of origin.

With the Eyes of X in hand, the possibilities—and dangers—are endless. But one warning is carved into the cabinet’s wood: never place organic matter inside. What realms might be revealed if they disobey?

Their journey takes them to the feared Terror Island, a deadly location whispered about by sailors across Skelowack Strand. Rumors of magma beasts, sky predators, and dragons prove all too real when an invisible Blinks—a jungle cat that stalks without sound—strikes without mercy upon their arrival.

Forced to retreat and regroup, Riley prepares a healing dish of Warbler Tartare and a clever bait to outwit future foes. But the question remains: what treasure could possibly justify this deadly expedition?

Speaker 1:

no-transcript hey.

Speaker 2:

Welcome to.

Speaker 1:

Scream and happy Saturday. Can I go horizontal?

Speaker 3:

Welcome to. Well, things are gonna go horizontal today.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, there we go.

Speaker 1:

They are indeed, but you know what it's the finale, am I right? Well, I mean, it's going to be a long long, months-long, finale Month.

Speaker 3:

Oh wait, sorry.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry Last week.

Speaker 3:

Last week, yeah Week before, week before yeah, this is the start of season four.

Speaker 1:

This is the start of season four. I'm sorry. I yeah, this is the start of Season 4. This is the start of Season 4. I'm sorry, I am paying attention. Kill the stream. Kill the stream. I'm going to go ahead and clear out my desk. Welcome everybody to the Land of Eme stream. We're about to start Season 4, as I flubbed, the Adventures of Riley and Galen. If you're interested in playing the Land of Eam, you can check it out at landofeamcom and download the beta rules for free. You can also sign up to get news about our upcoming Kickstarter, which is super exciting and going to have a lot of cool stuff. And yeah, we also announced a new series. I don't think we've mentioned that on the stream yet, but we announced a new middle grade chapter book series that's packed with art, called Dungeoneer adventures lost in the mushroom maze.

Speaker 1:

I want to say did we have a cover art or something last time? Oh, maybe we did show it last time, but that's the. That's the cover. It's from the advanced reader copy. You can find out more about Dungeoneer Adventures and Land of Eamcom. More about Dungeoneer Adventures and Land of Eamcom. I just heard myself speak. Wow, I got double Georgie.

Speaker 3:

Double Georgie over here and uh yeah. So that's what we've been working on lately and we've got some big RPG news coming up, fyi.

Speaker 1:

We do. But what's really cool is Dungeoneer Adventures takes place in the land of Eme and it'll be available on March 31st.

Speaker 3:

May 31st. May 31st, 2022. I'm sorry, you're all over the place. I am all over the place, you know what.

Speaker 1:

The reality is my brain is filled with too many things and I just can't keep it straight anymore.

Speaker 3:

It's like the sandbox.

Speaker 1:

It's filled with too much good stuff, you know it's true.

Speaker 3:

So many words, too many words.

Speaker 1:

Too many words, too many hexes. You know too many hexes, or not enough, or not enough. I think that there are enough hexes. This is the actual map that you can download for free. It's a slightly updated version.

Speaker 3:

This is the version that will be in the Kickstarter, so the free one is not as up to date, but that's cool, because you just wait for the Kickstarter and you can get everything, and it's gonna be, crazy yeah, so let's uh recap last time, season three at the end, uh finale um you guys with the pirate court and a fleet of pirate ships launching an attack on the dagger heart base at lookout island yes because you discovered them there, and um, at Lookout Island Because you discovered them there, and it ended with you guys taking down the largest ship in the Daggerheart fleet, yep. It was a heck of a battle.

Speaker 1:

It was a surprising combat. I mean, we were losing one cannon and we lost another cannon and we had just like a final shot.

Speaker 3:

And then you said, the hull had one hit point left Sure and then we crashed the ship into it. I swung across to the enemy ship in a full frontal assault and was immediately knocked out by critical hits. Woke up to someone stealing your gear Yep. Yep, and you bit them think you did bite them and um and I think the last thing you saw was a plump parrot flying out of the sinking ship that's right and going into the lighthouse.

Speaker 3:

But this is season four and we're kind of jumping ahead. I kind of want to do some rolls, just to see how everyone like how all the other pirates fared.

Speaker 1:

Linnell has to live. She's loved my life.

Speaker 3:

Well, your crew is fine. I'm just talking about, like the pirate court.

Speaker 1:

The wooden foots, oh yeah, all the rest of the pirates in the flotilla.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, so I'm going to roll for the wooden foots, who had the strongest force.

Speaker 1:

That's not great.

Speaker 3:

That is a three. How do we want to interpret that? That is a miss with a plus. That means they failed. It's a failure with a plus.

Speaker 1:

Maybe they engaged the brunt of the opposing forces in the and they lived. They're just clung to wreckage. Maybe most of their fleet was decimated, uh, but they took out a lot of the pirate fleet with them, the dagger hearts at least.

Speaker 1:

But that might leave them behind in the power struggle, uh, in the pirate court yeah, in fact, you guys are aligned with them yeah so maybe, like you are, you, along with uh verma woodenfoot, are like the last of the the wooden feet yeah, she keeps trying to tell us, if we want to be real wooden feet, we have to chop off our legs. Good, but it just seems like a bridge too far for me. Yeah, so you know, we, we, we really don't need pirates that bad, and you know, it's. Uh, it's really, it's fine, it's fine, I'm going to.

Speaker 3:

I'm going to interpret that also, as there were um a few dagger hardships that escaped.

Speaker 1:

Typical.

Speaker 2:

Um, they're all um Typical.

Speaker 1:

They all have bombs in their hulls and they're going straight from.

Speaker 3:

Uckland Harbor. The barking butchers did well.

Speaker 1:

Cool. They really just hung back around the periphery and shot cannons from afar. They were never in any danger. When the wooden feet were engaged in ship-to-ship combat, the Cyclops crew is the one that has the most forces.

Speaker 3:

when the wooden feet were engaged in ship-to-ship combat, the Cyclops crew is the one that has the most forces at the end of this Amazing. Remember those boggles? Yeah, I do.

Speaker 1:

The boggles of the Cyclops crew. I helped those guys. I helped arm their ship. They're cool guys. Tiny guys ship they're cool guys.

Speaker 3:

Tiny guys. So, as you might expect, after the fight and you guys are inside the secret cove of the Daggerhearts, there's a lot of squabbling between the pirates about who gets what. There's a lot of loot to be shared, um, and it's, it's. It's like on the verge of conflict, like another conflict, um, so I'm gonna throw you guys in there. Verma wooden foot is like standing on a on a pile of like gold and says now listen, I took the most casualties, so I should be compensated compensated for failure.

Speaker 1:

I say we're Woodenfoot stop, yeah.

Speaker 3:

I mean what she said compensated for failure. I say we're wooden foot. Oh, stop, yeah, I mean.

Speaker 1:

What she said Riley.

Speaker 3:

A barking butcher. And then there's just more arguing.

Speaker 2:

You launched another argument here. Sorry, Dylan.

Speaker 1:

But you're noticing now that, like you could probably sink back into the darkness and like, leave this place if you want I was gonna say we should like head out the front and go to the lighthouse you want to get out of here, and I've turned around, galen's already gone. Yeah, this looks exactly like the bottom of the stream image.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Galen off screen. We've determined that you've leveled to level 10, the max level in the game. Maximum level. That means that you have two abilities, and one of them is legendary item.

Speaker 2:

Oh snap.

Speaker 1:

Level 10. A carrier Scrockwing shows up. It's got like a little postal hat. It's massive. It lands on top of a lighthouse.

Speaker 3:

I think, by the fact that you are in a secret cove of pirates. There's probably something that you can find here.

Speaker 1:

Well, but I mean it's supposed to be from like my ancestors. I would just like to say that there's a part of me that really likes it when George starts to GM for himself. Suddenly he likes the scene and it makes me want there to be another Land of Eam stream where it's just George. Gming himself.

Speaker 2:

I would do it, I would do it, I'd kill myself over and over.

Speaker 1:

It's just George jamming himself. Cause it would be, I would do it. I would do it, I'd kill myself over and over.

Speaker 3:

It's something from your ancestors has come into your possession, so you're finding it. Yeah, you're recognizing it.

Speaker 1:

That's the seal of done Dougal on this fill in the blank.

Speaker 3:

So roll 2d 40.

Speaker 2:

Roll 2D40.

Speaker 1:

22 and 30. I already know one of them Theoretically it's the clown 40. Or 22 and 30. Did I say 40? All right.

Speaker 3:

It's very exciting.

Speaker 1:

The table of relics is being accessed by Ben Costa.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, you can pick your. He hasn't had a lot of luck on the green this weekend.

Speaker 1:

No, really, the wind conditions are against him.

Speaker 3:

You can choose between these. There's something called the rickety curio of infinite doors.

Speaker 1:

Interesting.

Speaker 2:

Go on.

Speaker 3:

And the worm slayer's tooth worm. Slayer's tooth there's a weapon, it's a sword. The rickety curio, curio of infinite doors is a. It's like a cabinet.

Speaker 1:

It's like a ridiculous concept to be carrying a cabinet around with me. How big is the cabinet?

Speaker 3:

I don't know if it's that crazy Like a spice cabinet spice pantry.

Speaker 1:

We have the most ability to carry anything. I have a wagon. Yeah, I think we have to go with the curio of infinite doors because they already have really cool weapons, even though the worm slayer 2 sounds really cool okay, um, you want to make a lore check on this?

Speaker 3:

I just, I think you know, I think you know.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I've heard a tale of this. I'd be like, oh, this was lost five generations ago. By who was it? My great Nobeard Dundugle, and he was a pirate, you see, with no beard.

Speaker 3:

Yes, and before that you heard that this was an incredible artifact from the Age of Flame.

Speaker 1:

Ah yes, age of Flame.

Speaker 3:

Used by wizards to solve mysteries. What this?

Speaker 1:

is amazing.

Speaker 3:

So how it works is you place an object into it and close the door, and when you open it again there's a doorway to the object's location of origin.

Speaker 1:

What I think. I know what I want to put in here and it's shaped like a dragon ball, looks like a dragon ball, but it's an eye of X and I'm going to use this.

Speaker 3:

We're going to go yeah oh my god, just go out into space and die like some hellscape.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you walk into the matrix, it's just blank white everywhere. This is, this is really exciting. Um, what if I put myself in there? Do I know about, like an ancestor who tried that?

Speaker 3:

yeah it's just uh, inside out meat. You know what I mean you ever seen the fly?

Speaker 1:

I mean, you know, help me. Yeah, um, it says no organic matter. That's the only clearly carved instruction. I put a tangerine in and then it just spits out like you know pulp, one full glass of tangerine juice.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, don't drink it, it's radioactive.

Speaker 1:

Radioactive. It's the secret of the ooze. You know, this is really exciting. None of the pirates. Pirates, while they're arguing, notice me dragging out, uh, a cabinet, yeah we're like navigating corners like yeah, like trying to move it. At a first glance it doesn't look like it's special, it just looks like removing furniture, I think it's.

Speaker 3:

It's like something you could carry on your back, galen.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's probably like the size of a medicine cabinet or something Like a little cupboard. A little cupboard, yeah, it's like Indian inside of it Enough that you could crawl through it. Okay, got it. It's like being John Malkovich, what you crawl through a little tunnel. Being.

Speaker 3:

Galen Dungdugul.

Speaker 1:

It's good. Can you just tell me what the worm tooth slayer thing does? I'm just curious now because I have to know. I have to know Ben.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I mean mean it's, it's, it's, uh, it just does 2d8 against dragons and it's plus three dread. But it also pairs with another thing it's like a set item.

Speaker 1:

oh, it pairs and I don't have the other set thing. Is this just set item on the relic table Also, yeah, that seems really hard to get the set bonus for wielding both of those.

Speaker 3:

It's true, it is hard.

Speaker 1:

Also true. Good thing, I picked what I picked. You know Not unless you put it in the curio, maybe.

Speaker 2:

Wow, yeah, you can learn stuff, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

I tricked the GM. I took both things I'm going to take that armor too guy.

Speaker 3:

Once you get to the blacksmith's forge.

Speaker 1:

Amazing, I'm level 10. I have a relic from my family tree. Feels good. What else can I do? I can also called shot and we'll see that coming to play soon, I'm sure all right.

Speaker 3:

So where are you going, lighthouse?

Speaker 1:

what about?

Speaker 3:

your ship. It's decimated. Where are you going, lighthouse?

Speaker 1:

What about your ship? It's decimated. Now our crew, I mean they've sailed it into this subterranean port and layer right yeah.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, llc yeah.

Speaker 1:

Been working on repairs? I assume? Yeah, they're probably working on repairs, but the thing is that they were expecting to get a payday, right?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that's true, because they're all wooden foots.

Speaker 2:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker 1:

But then that's Verma's issue. Yeah that's because Verma's standing on all the gold and she's the captain. Look at her we leave them all behind and we just leave with Elmo and Noggin. Hey guys, we're going to go get her washed. We'll be right back. We just sail off on the ship because it is Noggin's ship after all. It's my pleasure yacht.

Speaker 3:

Alright, let's go.

Speaker 1:

I'm in a lawn chair with one of those reflective things like Polly Walnuts.

Speaker 3:

Why don't you make a sneak check, both of you All right?

Speaker 1:

How sneaky am I A dewey?

Speaker 2:

Oh, Galen.

Speaker 3:

You guys are going to have to narrate your numbers because I can't see them anymore.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay, yeah, all right, I rolled an 11. So I slip on through. You know I actually I'm so confident I like go between somebody's legs because I don't notice and I think I'm doing great, but then when I arrive at my destination, galen's already there.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he did a frog jump Silent.

Speaker 1:

I did like a power jump. Excuse me, I did a power jump. I squatted down just on my dummy thick thighs. I squatted down for about 10 seconds. No one knew what I was doing and then, after charging up all that power in my legs, I just leapt over the entire crowd. No one noticed.

Speaker 3:

Not a one. Now all you see, is just a cloud of pirates fighting. And you slowly coast off out of this cove. No one is wise to it, so you can circle around.

Speaker 1:

I feel bad that we didn't get any treasure, but it's I don't know if it's that bad, riley, how do you feel? I feel like. I feel like we've got to get out of here. Are we not going to pursue the lighthouse angle at all? Um, I suppose we could. Actually, before we leave, we could go take the thing around to the front of where we landed previously.

Speaker 3:

All right, make a travel check.

Speaker 1:

Do we? That's at 14. Is that 13? Bernard is guiding my hand.

Speaker 3:

Okay, all the way to discovery.

Speaker 1:

Two, three D20, correct.

Speaker 3:

Yeah 16. No, sorry, it's a D100.

Speaker 1:

Okay, just multiply 16 by 5.

Speaker 3:

I know 58. Coming up.

Speaker 1:

What does it mean? You can do what you want to do and live in color. What does it mean?

Speaker 3:

I need to know what it means. There are Finfolk repairing their vessel on the shoreline.

Speaker 1:

I walk up to it. Well, we're going to dock anyways, right. So we disembark and I say I wave them down. I say guys, guys, you got to get out of here. There's a bunch of pirates in a cove around the other side and they're going to be pretty hungry for treasure after they finally divvy up their loot.

Speaker 3:

What do you think destroyed our ship?

Speaker 1:

Got caught in that battle, oh crossfire, you get caught up in it, you know.

Speaker 3:

I was just coming around the horn and see all this fighting and naval warfare.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, there was a big pirate battle, are you?

Speaker 3:

guys pirates Well we wipe off the tattoos. It's still a wooden foot banner. It's a skull with like two carrots behind it.

Speaker 1:

Don't worry about that flag, we got caught up in it too. We're not pirates, but we're sneaky, we escaped. Yeah, we're very sneaky.

Speaker 3:

What are we supposed to do here?

Speaker 1:

Well, maybe I can take a look and help out. Yeah, we can montage helping repair the ship. I think we're out of material, so I only have eight left. Oh, materials, material, you already repaired a ship at sea. Yeah, I have nine materials, okay.

Speaker 1:

Um and I think I have abilities. I am proficient in boating and smuggling. I was. I always forget that, yeah, it's something that's not come up because that part of my character sheet is resolution hard to read. That's so funny. After a thousand episodes he's like oh man, I'm really good at boating and smuggling guys. Can I use my boating ability to help make their ship more ship shape?

Speaker 1:

well, I mean uh or roll twice on a ship repair check. I've got woodcraft and repair so I can. I can. I feel like boating is like actually, uh like navigating.

Speaker 3:

I know you were the captain too.

Speaker 2:

That would have been so useful.

Speaker 1:

God, why? But is anyone surprised? No, none of us are surprised. I'm just full of hidden abilities, hidden footprints.

Speaker 2:

More hidden footprints.

Speaker 3:

So I'll say that I'm just going to randomize it. Roll 3D6. That's how many materials.

Speaker 1:

Go for it, jimmy, 3d6. 9.

Speaker 2:

We can do it, yeah, 9 we can do it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we can alright, make a crafting check should I give you a bonus before you roll it?

Speaker 2:

you already have a plus 3. Yeah, look at that. 12, 13, 14 it. You already have a plus three. Yeah, you advantage and plus three so this is it.

Speaker 1:

Look at that. Twelve, thirteen.

Speaker 3:

Fourteen, yeah, fourteen. You have no problems. Repairing the ship Takes a while, though it's going to take part of the day.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

Worth it.

Speaker 3:

Galen, did you want to do something? Did you want to investigate?

Speaker 1:

yeah, I want to investigate the lighthouse while they're fixing that up all right what do you, uh? What are you searching for? I'm trying to see where that bird went the parrot yeah, make a search check.

Speaker 2:

Parrot, parrot, parrot, parrot, parrot, parrot.

Speaker 1:

Ugh.

Speaker 3:

It's a one. There is no evidence that a parrot was here.

Speaker 1:

It's like sitting right above me, it poops on me, there's no parrot here. I can't see nothing there. No parrot ever existed. It was a figment of our imagination.

Speaker 3:

A wisp of clouds.

Speaker 1:

I go back to Riley and say nothing over there. No idea where that thing went. I could have sworn. I saw one, but oh well.

Speaker 2:

To the high seas, Galen.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, basically we can sail to. Did we go to Terror Island? We were gonna get a crew right At Hornswoggle but we just abandoned that crew. We abandoned that crew and then we got a pirate crew Got wrapped up in the pirate stuff.

Speaker 2:

And now we abandoned them.

Speaker 1:

They can't be trusted.

Speaker 3:

The Fin folks say look, I don't know what you're searching for, but those Daggerheart ships. They were sailing west, yeah that's true.

Speaker 1:

We saw one going by terror island, didn't we something like that? Yeah, well, maybe we sail west, we could hug the coast and see if we can't, uh, find him. Yeah, that wouldn't be a bad idea, were we gonna drop somebody off at conch too, or did we do that already?

Speaker 2:

I think, oh no, we uh it was ranguni we he yeah, he joined the crew of another ship yeah, with the other finn folk ship.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we gave him a hug. Yeah, ranguni, good old ranguni, brings a tear to my eye, you know I do um.

Speaker 2:

I love that rangunioonie.

Speaker 1:

Alright, well, yeah. So we helped a Finfolk Repair their ship. They say that they saw the Daggerheart ships going west. I'll ask them when were you guys headed?

Speaker 3:

We were just Traveling east Around the Horn.

Speaker 2:

Gonna make it all the way to yeah, first and then anchor bottom.

Speaker 1:

It's all the way east of here.

Speaker 2:

I say Zona.

Speaker 1:

Maybe he can drop off. They can drop off your son at Mush Mash.

Speaker 3:

It can be the rest of his family. It is not my son it is me, Zona.

Speaker 1:

do you intend to separate from yourself? We are separated. But equal Jeez. I guess little Zona could hit your ride and go back to Mushmash to raise himself, only if he wanted to. I don't know that he wants that. He does not even know how to write. I have to teach him. But how to be a journalist, you know how to write if he's you this is true this is true. The paradox Galen and Riley just can't get around. We don't understand.

Speaker 3:

It is the soil. The soil is not nutritious enough.

Speaker 1:

The dwarven flowerpot is hurt, gnomish flowerpot. I don't remember, I don't remember, I don't remember. We should probably get him to land. We could take some soil here.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Plant him here? Oh no, I'm just like pick it and refill the pot with better soil. Plant him on Terror.

Speaker 2:

Island get all that volcanic soil.

Speaker 1:

Plant them on Terror Island. Get all that volcanic soil.

Speaker 3:

This is like yeah, the one here is like beach soil. It's not great.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, maybe Terror Island has some crazy soil. Volcanic soil is a thing right, isn't it like super lush?

Speaker 2:

Super nutritious and delicious.

Speaker 1:

That's when Zona becomes the end boss, turn him into like a King Kong. Yeah, that's when Zona becomes the end boss, turn him into like a King Kong.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's Kong Skull Island, only giant mushrooms, yeah.

Speaker 3:

The Finn folks say you're going to Terror Island.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

We are Don't.

Speaker 1:

Don't. Now everyone says not to go to Terror Island. What's there? What is so scary?

Speaker 3:

about Terror Island. I've heard the horrible things Creatures screeching in the sky that swoop down and pick you up, take you to their horrible nests.

Speaker 1:

It's like being in Scrock Ness Mountain.

Speaker 3:

It's a dragon. I've heard A dragon. That's amazing.

Speaker 1:

That's amazing.

Speaker 3:

He's like, yeah, there are creatures made out of magma.

Speaker 1:

Magma. I don't even know how to fight that In this moment. Galen turns to Riley and he's like what were we thinking we?

Speaker 2:

gotta handle.

Speaker 1:

Terror Island, like Jeff Goldblum in the Jurassic Park movie, where he goes back and they just hug the beach the whole time.

Speaker 2:

It's like don't want to go into the interior.

Speaker 1:

Yeah Well, I guess we were going to search for that treasure on Terror Island.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Wally's map would lead us to it. Right, we still want that. Sorry, it's all coming flooding back to me what we were trying to do. Yeah, I'm going to ask the Finfo, because has anybody ever successfully visited Terror Island?

Speaker 3:

I don't know any legends, just hear legends of people dying or running away. I've heard, like you say, there is a treasure on the island. Someone put it there.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, well, what do you think, alan? Do we? Do we try to scout it out, or yes. All right, yes, Um I what we need to reload our cannons? Yeah, wow, that's true. We should go to a place where we can do that. That is not good a conch, well, I mean. So here's the problem, right, I guess, by like fleeing the pirate, divvying up the treasure thing, we've lost our share of the treasure. Um, so we're effectively broke again.

Speaker 2:

Do you have one cannon left.

Speaker 1:

We have one cannon left. No, it ran out of remember it ran out of yeah, we don't have any ammunition.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

We need to like go to a port.

Speaker 3:

Oh yeah, you had to Ram the ship.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Well what if we? What if we? What if we actually went to anchor bottom and dropped off Zona? I don't know what if we actually went to Anchor Bottom and dropped off Zona. Zona doesn't necessarily want to leave us, though. Seems fine, I don't know why. I think that I think you seeded my brain.

Speaker 2:

I did.

Speaker 1:

Zona in-bucked your brain.

Speaker 2:

It's really upsetting that Zona would leave. It's the last season.

Speaker 1:

He's got to be along for the ride.

Speaker 3:

I don't want to totally influence your decision here, but there are forces at work that are already moving and already doing things, and you're already behind the eight ball.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Terror Island. Yeah, because right now what we want to do is we want to find that last Iavec right. That's one of our main things. To get the treasure, give it to that guy who's sailing around, get the Felmog, stop them from helping the Sarpathy and then maybe beat them to the Iavec right. That's our big current plan yeah I say we sail for terror island. I'm in for better or worse, probably for worse probably for worse, yeah you know, um, let's do it, let's uh, let's set sail.

Speaker 1:

We'll thank the Finfolk and wish them well on their journey. Ask if they have any extra cannonballs they can perhaps give us in exchange for the materials that we we gave them.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, they give you two cannonballs, the ones that broke their hole.

Speaker 1:

Thank you kind sirs, Thank you, kind sirs. So does that put two of our cannons back in action until usage expires?

Speaker 3:

Two shots.

Speaker 1:

Two shots. Okay, that was worth a shot. Great Two shots.

Speaker 3:

What if you?

Speaker 1:

had two chances. Wow, uh, those shots for giant mega monsters that we have no idea how to destroy. Yeah, crazy ernie is like all right, it's time for the five o'clock firing, and he just fires off one of the cannons and we now have one shot like crazy ernie's with you.

Speaker 2:

Not crazy, ernie. Hey guys, how'd I get here?

Speaker 1:

Suddenly our whole ship is trapped. Suddenly we notice someone having breakfast with Noggin and it's crazy, ernie.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Working their forks on waffles and stuff Plates, clattering Puffy robes. Is Linnell still with us? Yes, that's up to her. I think we would have. She's blind. She probably stay in the ship the whole time. Anyway, she has no idea what's going on and what's well they're been up to.

Speaker 3:

It's put on 40 pounds, just like playing pinball or I think he's more living the noggin life than he is like the entering life yeah, all right, well, we'll, we'll see.

Speaker 1:

If we can't get him into shape for Terror Island, it'll be the Jack Black of our group. I love it I will, I love, I want, like. I want him to become like very jack black-esque take forever, just spirals, spirals, out of control. Good, all right, we, we can move two more squares today. Uh, unless, ben, you wanted to say that searching the lighthouse and everything else took the rest of the day because we sailed three already.

Speaker 1:

Um, it might be, might, might have to be that way yeah, I think so, I think so okay well, maybe we can spend the evening there and just like going through our supplies, revitalizing our quests for terror island, coming up with plans like we're, like we're, you know, I think we should land. Actually, we kind of know where the treasure is. Ish, right, right, we have the map that leads us from Hornswoggle to Terror Island. Okay, but I say we go south around the bottom to avoid the pirate fleet that is going to be mingling in the water.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, Sure so we head over here.

Speaker 1:

Set sail first thing in the morning. I love it. That is the campfire conversation.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

Okay, okay.

Speaker 3:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

All right. All the pirates descend upon us.

Speaker 3:

All of the pirates destroy your ship.

Speaker 1:

All their base are belong to us Exactly.

Speaker 3:

Okay, the next day you set sail, make a check.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to roll a Georgie, should I roll?

Speaker 1:

it. Yeah, I'll get us kicked off.

Speaker 3:

Kick it off Georgie.

Speaker 1:

Into the ocean. We sail in a circle right back into the shore. That's wonderful. Somebody forgot to pull up anchor and it got snagged on some rocks and the ship lurched, and then we spent the rest of the afternoon just repairing it. Yeah, basically.

Speaker 3:

Roll a d100.

Speaker 1:

54 dead. 54 dead. This is not good, I agree.

Speaker 3:

Your ship seems to be caught on something as you leave the shores. Be caught on something as you leave the shores.

Speaker 1:

I look over the side of the ship and see if I can see anything in the water.

Speaker 3:

Make a perception check.

Speaker 1:

Critical perception.

Speaker 3:

I see a problem Clearly, and it's helped by this burst of light like this, like weird tangle of knots of seaweed kind of wrapped around the ship, as well as like a bunch of eels that are lighting up with like electric energy. Oh no, of eels that are lighting up with electric energy swimming around.

Speaker 1:

Ah man, this is going to be gnarly, but you have an idea. I'm working on it. I think that what I will do is get out the bearskin of trivia. That item has gone some miles. Yeah, it has gone some serious miles, um, and unless you can think of something better, I'm probably going to make some dumb fact about these creatures. Uh, let's see. So I'm going to roll war check and I'm going to think of the fact, um, these eels can't stand the midday sun, so if we wait it out, they'll have to retreat to the deeper parts of the ocean and leave our ship alone. But we'll like lose travel time, if that makes sense. Okay, I'm going to see. If that's true, there's 11.

Speaker 3:

Okay, I'm going to say just by waiting around, you're risking pirates. Thank you. Well you're lucky. Yes, you're lucky, yes you're lucky this time, all right.

Speaker 1:

So you wait them out and they eventually disperse nice, uh, I'll dive into the water and, um, I'll dive into the water and chop off the I was just about to say yeah and cut through all the seaweed and stuff. Alright, then get the anchor up, then set sail.

Speaker 2:

Oh.

Speaker 3:

Alright, you're able to do that, uh, without a problem, just takes time and um. Time is the one thing we got, you know we'll say one thing we got you're able to move two x's for this day, just because all the waiting all right, should I roll, go for it? Seven.

Speaker 1:

Gonna move your thing.

Speaker 3:

Gotta move that thing, baby so this is the next day.

Speaker 1:

The next day Seven.

Speaker 2:

Four hours later.

Speaker 3:

Okay, the next day Seven, four hours later, a seven.

Speaker 1:

Roll a d6. I got a d6.

Speaker 2:

Five.

Speaker 3:

A five Unwanted attention.

Speaker 2:

Oh dear.

Speaker 3:

Make another check for the second part of the day. Oh boy.

Speaker 1:

The second part of the day. Nine I think George is supposed to roll. Oh sorry, no, I accept it. Nine, perfect, it is supposed to roll. Oh sorry, no, I accept it. Nine, perfect, it's great. Roll it, georgie, I believe in you Seven Ben. Are you happy now? All right, roll a D6. He's going to be very happy. Now it's one. Oh dear Fun times.

Speaker 2:

Look who's in our wake.

Speaker 1:

It's one oh dear Fun times. Look who's in our wake. It's the pirates. They shoot us.

Speaker 3:

We die.

Speaker 1:

You kind of lose your bearings.

Speaker 3:

Okay, cool, lost our marbles, we sail off. You guys need to move your piece here.

Speaker 1:

No, no, no, no no. Well, we were planning For the first part part. We got three in right.

Speaker 3:

You haven't done it yet.

Speaker 1:

We're going to get three right, so I'll move here.

Speaker 3:

Alright, now you've Made a wrong turn, so now roll a d6.

Speaker 1:

I'm gonna crash. I think we're about to land on Terror Island Much sooner than we thought we were going to. Five, One, two, three, four, five. Oh no, actually that's not bad. Yep, that's where we were going to skirt the island, right.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

All right.

Speaker 1:

I make a mistake, but I play it off as if that was our plan the whole time.

Speaker 3:

Oh yeah, we're here.

Speaker 1:

This way, right? Yeah, it's great, and you make sure that the map is not upside down anymore. Linnell was off-duty and she comes back and she's like why is this map upside down?

Speaker 3:

It's fine, all right, as night falls and you guys? Are near the coast of the island. You you see lights on the shore oh, um, can I narrate this one?

Speaker 1:

upon closer inspection, the lights are, all you know, kind of spaced evenly apart. They burn with a fire of a thousand suns. You realize that there are throngs of magma men staring at you from the shore of terror island no of Terror Island no no. Not that this all happens in Galen's head, and then the GM says no, and he snaps too. He's like Galen what are you? Looking at.

Speaker 3:

It's clearly like people holding lights and you can see it moving around on shore. Interesting.

Speaker 1:

I wonder if it's the Falmog or the Daggerhearts. Yeah, are there ships that we can see that are pulled ashore?

Speaker 3:

You did not see any Okay.

Speaker 1:

You know what I mean?

Speaker 3:

Okay it could be somewhere else in the universe, you didn't have the best view of the entire coast, the ships could be in that little Cove too, just north of us yeah.

Speaker 1:

Should we investigate? Should we land somewhere else and investigate? It's up to you. It puts entirely in your hands. I made the first check and now it's your turn.

Speaker 3:

I mean, that was the second check. This is nighttime. I don't know what we're doing and you made a wrong turn and you can only move one X.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah. Now it's up to James. Okay, no, no, well, I mean, we'll wait out the night, right, like we can't. I don't know where it's theoretically still moving, but do we want to steer towards the shore, then? Yeah, but maybe the opposite shore, so, like they don't see us, you can land over here, or something.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, right, okay, you want to do it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Oops.

Speaker 3:

Oh all right, I'm going to roll. All right, I'm going to roll, all right. Well, you guys have been lucky with. Yeah, we have unwanted attention.

Speaker 2:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker 3:

So on the coast of the island, your checks are minus three.

Speaker 1:

Ooh okay, so that's nine.

Speaker 3:

It's still a success.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, no twist Minus three would have been a discovery. Yeah, no twist Minus three would have been a discovery.

Speaker 3:

It's not much to discover on Terror Island, just death and destruction. You know what I mean.

Speaker 1:

A ton of certain dismemberment, just terror. So where are you going? We are going to land right. Here was the plan. I can't read that 1, 3, 3, 4.

Speaker 2:

11.34, yeah.

Speaker 1:

All right, george, you want to head to shore and scout out the area. Before we do that, I unload FB and I put the barding of the messenger on her, so she's incredibly fast. Nice, this will do, old girl, this will do. Why do you keep making that sound Cool? That's terrifying. Actually, sound like that's yeah. It's more like, uh, we land on shore. Um, is there any evidence of the guys or the people from the night before?

Speaker 3:

uh, not immediately where you are okay you saw, that we over here.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we invite welder to come with us oh, he's like scratching himself.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, I don't know, you know, I'm just I don't have armor.

Speaker 1:

You can't fit into the armor?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I kind of like it with Noggin. You know we should. Probably They'll need a sword to watch the ship.

Speaker 1:

He makes a point, a dull point, but one nonetheless. Yes, it's true.

Speaker 2:

I can still wield this thing it does a little, does a little, and it like flies out of his hands as he's twirling it. Yeah, um, you know what it's well?

Speaker 3:

it's like that and from like applying like coconut oil to himself while he's tanning it flies and almost skewers noggin and like hits the side of the hole First you think he's angry but he's like hey, Elmo just sighs, retrieves a sword.

Speaker 1:

That's too good. Okay, Do you want to head up and see if we can't go up this cove towards? The mountains and volcanoes, I should say the volcano.

Speaker 2:

Definitely.

Speaker 1:

The volcano. The volcano. See what we can see. See what we can see, we'll see what we can see. We move. I forgot how it is to move on land.

Speaker 3:

Well, on this land, this land is our land and this is difficult terrain, so you only move one hex per leg. Uh, so, and it's minus three hex per leg minus three.

Speaker 1:

This is a dangerous land. Alright, I'm going to make a travel check. It is a terror island. Blah, blah blah. Would a three be better than a two? I'm just saying would a three be better than a two?

Speaker 3:

It's minus three remember.

Speaker 1:

That is including the minus three. I'm going to pep talk George. Two, it's minus three, remember. That is including the minus three. I'm gonna. I'm gonna pep talk george wait minus three or minus two. Wait, minus three, minus three. Uh, would a two be better than a one? No, that's what I'm saying. No, it's a one I love it yeah yeah, this is the perfect way to start off our journey in Terraland. You walk into a cave that is a dragon's mouth.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Terraland has its own perilous encounter. Table A D10.

Speaker 1:

A D10.

Speaker 3:

Maybe because it's not finished.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

No, yeah, no. No, that's not what I meant it's. It's uh.

Speaker 2:

I was like oh, it will be a d12 yeah, that's even more scary okay, um you guys are.

Speaker 3:

I'm getting feedback on my voice.

Speaker 1:

Jimmy.

Speaker 3:

Anyone else getting that?

Speaker 1:

I also was. Yeah, I was hoping you would self-resolve.

Speaker 3:

Hello, hello.

Speaker 1:

Hello, I hear you. You guys are walking through and I'm walking on sunshine, you get this sinking feeling that something's watching you and I'm walking on sunshine.

Speaker 3:

Whoa you get?

Speaker 2:

this sinking feeling that something's watching you Hmm.

Speaker 3:

I ignore it. You can't ignore it. When you look, you see like some sort of weird glimmer.

Speaker 2:

Hmm, glimmer.

Speaker 1:

Glimmer I, uh, can I perceive at it? Uh, or that, are you shooting at the?

Speaker 3:

next moment that you, you try to look, uh, you're like it's, it's too late, Um, you're in a conflict.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 3:

Hey Holly, how's it going Well?

Speaker 2:

Hey, Holly, Um Holly, how's it going, hey, holly.

Speaker 3:

So you're in a conflict with an invisible creature who strikes at you. Wait what it's invisible it's an ambush creature um critter. So, the first round of this uh conflict is combat.

Speaker 1:

I respect that.

Speaker 3:

Well, thank you, holly, and thanks for coming and watching us.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, much appreciated. Um so Ben. Invisible creature, huh, indeed, invisible creature in the face. Is it one of those things like I catch a glint and I know it's coming at me, but I can't quite make it out. It's like the Predator.

Speaker 3:

Exactly.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I know what I'm going to do Me too. I immediately pick up as much sand in that direction as I can to get an outline of the creature. That'll be my action for the round, so I can maybe actually defend myself okay, it's sorry, I'm pulling it up. I want you to say I'm going to show you a picture and then it's just nothing that'd be pretty good, pretty classic. Galen, you're attacked except oh interesting because I've outlined it in sand. It falls on the point of my sword.

Speaker 3:

You're attacked, except oh interesting Because I've outlined it in sand it falls on the point of my sword, then it attacks Riley.

Speaker 1:

Of course it does. Of course it's an 11. At least it's an 11.

Speaker 3:

That I can accept. Do you have a 0 defense?

Speaker 1:

No, it's plus one. So there you go. Yeah, it's customary. Riley has to be critically hit immediately. Riley's unconscious. Everyone sighs.

Speaker 2:

Oh my good lord, oh my god, galen Riley just disappears.

Speaker 3:

Gulp, this is a jungle horror situation.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, this is. I mean I've been swallowed by an invisible monster. Full swallow Ben. Can we fast forward to the next round, or it becomes the next round, I guess.

Speaker 3:

It's your turn now.

Speaker 1:

But my turn was to kick sand on the creature. Remember I was doing that action so I can have an idea of the outline a little bit. Yeah, can you make a?

Speaker 3:

wilderness check to do that so I can have like an idea of the outline a little bit. Yeah, can you make a wilderness check to do that?

Speaker 1:

I Lord, really bad checks right now. Uh four you missed.

Speaker 3:

Um but you did get it. But you did get it. You did actually see that Riley was not gulped. She just like disappeared into a bush, like fell into a bush. You can't see her.

Speaker 1:

I still assume that she was gulped. My shoes are sitting no, it's fine. Yeah, riley's shoes are just like she got knocked out of her shoes. They're just on the ground. Yeah, riley's shoes are just like. She got knocked out of her shoes, they're just on the ground. She disappeared completely. Okay, so then I guess the next round. I would try to.

Speaker 2:

Hey, thanks, Holly.

Speaker 1:

She loves the map.

Speaker 3:

Hey, hey, holly, she loves the map. Hey, hey, thanks, james. You can see how long you're unconscious for and if you're wounded, one.

Speaker 2:

All right.

Speaker 1:

Be you wounded, am I wounded?

Speaker 2:

Nay.

Speaker 1:

Wait, oh yeah, actually wait, oh yeah.

Speaker 3:

Actually Yay Galen.

Speaker 2:

I am wounded, no but I well there is loves chicks with scars.

Speaker 3:

Hi noodle Galen, what are you doing?

Speaker 1:

yeah, sorry, I was trying to think what I should do besides attack this thing. It might just be attack this thing. Uh, no, I'll just have to. I'll try to attack it. Ben, is it possible to even attack it?

Speaker 3:

it is.

Speaker 1:

You just have disadvantage okay, um, yeah, well, you know, is there anything else I can do to outline this creature?

Speaker 3:

that's like the biggest issue right now this is probably actually one of the most deadly creatures in him, like that's not a, that's not a huge dragon or something you know, this is probably actually one of the most deadly creatures in EVE. That's not a huge dragon or something.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry, george, I was instantly critically hit. It's totally fine, I'm trying to think of anything.

Speaker 2:

I can do, I almost upgraded my courage.

Speaker 1:

I would still be standing if I upgraded my courage. It's fine. Is this thing undead at all? Ben no Dang, it's fine. Is this thing undead at all? Ben no, dang. All right, let's do this if if it bleeds, it can kill it. It just cuts to you holding a torch and a sword, going oh, you know. So that's gonna be a seven, I'll, that's going to be a seven.

Speaker 2:

That's a hit with a counter right Probably has minus one defense. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

Actually it's minus two I use a quest point to hit it then Minus two defense. Good lord, good lord, good sweet Mike, is it metallic at all? Do I know it's probably not. It's like all organic. You can make a lore check.

Speaker 3:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

I'll make a lore check real quick, or wilderness you're fighting a blinks, you believe? Blinks time sweeping cat blinks.

Speaker 3:

It is an invisible cat, predator cat. That's why it went for me with a critical man.

Speaker 1:

I'm a mouse, I'm the perfect food. Hold on, I'm hoping amazing.

Speaker 3:

So it's not metallic it's an invisible cat, so it's not metallic.

Speaker 2:

Alright, but you hit it so.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I kill it with two damage. You're going to tell me it has damage reduction of two, aren't you?

Speaker 3:

No, okay, but that Now it's going's generous.

Speaker 1:

How are you I have, uh, minus one. I have minus one to hit or to be hit. Now what do I have? Where is my armor?

Speaker 1:

yeah, it's still the same yeah nine dread okay, um this is a doom cat it is a doom cat, yeah, doom cat indeed it is the worst, worst of the cats that we could possibly, worst possible cat ever. Uh, I will shrug off that ben. Would it be okay to say that I was mounted on FB because I did brought her down and said the barding okay, thank you for that. So that's two damage blocked and I'll roll 1d8, shrug off 5 plus 2, so I take 2 damage. So I'm at 24 out of 23. How about 23? What are hit? What is courage? Even what is it?

Speaker 3:

yeah, what is dread?

Speaker 1:

yeah, what is dread. So I have 28 minus 226. I can't do math right now, great so. So I'm obviously going to triumph in this situation. I'm only.

Speaker 2:

My morale is strengthened by my resounding success. Right Can.

Speaker 1:

I see it bleeding. Like, is it like making it visible in any way?

Speaker 3:

No, it's the same thing.

Speaker 2:

I don't think you did enough to see it bleeding.

Speaker 3:

Got it, riley. On the next round you come to, oh my gosh, you wake up in a bush. You've got a huge gash on your chest.

Speaker 1:

Um, and he's according to plan. Yeah and uh, squirt super glue on my gash and bind it Like I feel good. No, Like a field kit no. Yeah, actually I am going to use, I'm going to use muster courage. Oh, I don't have muster courage anymore.

Speaker 1:

Oh no, oh my gosh, gave it up. I did. I love I forgot I'm level nine. Ok, this is what I will do. Love, I forgot I'm level nine. Okay, this is what I will do. I'm going to use two arms once per combat. Everyone in the party deals one D, six, one D plus one D six dread for two rounds. Oh nice, okay, so, georgie. So we. Everybody gets it, except um CTA baby. I'm going to cta baby, I'm gonna, I'm gonna fight.

Speaker 3:

You know, yeah, that's I gotta help. You know, I do know, all right, roll initiative probably, yeah georgie boy 11.

Speaker 1:

I go after the cat.

Speaker 3:

Okay, the cat Attack Scalin again. Oof, that is Wait you're minus one.

Speaker 1:

No, I'm at zero. I realize I need to hit with both my attacks.

Speaker 3:

Six Dread 23.

Speaker 1:

Riley was supposed to go for, or that was the call to arm. That was the ability she used. Never mind, no, that was my initiative. Oh sorry.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, Regardless it's fine initiative.

Speaker 1:

Oh sorry, yeah, regardless, it's fine. I mean, I don't know that it would have changed anything, but Riley should attack.

Speaker 3:

He's got that critical hit on you Waiting in the queue.

Speaker 2:

Oh.

Speaker 1:

Lord, I didn't even see that. I did not even see the. I didn't even see that. I did not even see the. Riley might be worm feast man, I don't know. I've got this dread thing up and I get two attacks, so I could do a ton of dread if I hit.

Speaker 3:

That was going to be another attack against Galen oh, okay, also fine.

Speaker 1:

That's much better. That's also fine, it's also fine. Um, yeah, so riley should attack it and uh, do what she was gonna do after you take the dread. No, you were supposed to attack before. I mean like, unless you, it doesn't really matter, whatever all. I'm going to roll my first attack.

Speaker 3:

It's disadvantage, right. Yeah, and you're wounded, right.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, jeez.

Speaker 1:

Cheese and crackers. I do not hit with the first attack, it's a four. What is it? What is it? It's minus two disadvantage and you're loaded so it's minus three and I'm plus one so you're minus two yeah, at least it's not a two. Alright, second attack. Oh no, at least it's not a two. All right. Second attack. Oh no, you tumble inside its mouth. The Nimbus Hammer goes into the sky. Oh no, the Nimbus Hammer goes back into the clouds for the rest of the game.

Speaker 3:

I love that. I forgot that was a thing.

Speaker 1:

It's a huge drawback of having two attacks Plus it just increases the chance of failure with the disadvantage. Alright, Benny, Roll that damage. Roll that beautiful bean damage.

Speaker 3:

You know what I'm going to say to give you benefit of doubt here. You're what I'm going to say to give you benefit of the doubt here.

Speaker 2:

You're just going to critically even harder.

Speaker 3:

Riling attack attacking the blinks with the miss, with a plus subtracted one from that critical hit.

Speaker 1:

I'll take it all day. Thank you, you're a kind of benevolent GM.

Speaker 3:

But it's still 8 Dread.

Speaker 1:

Still 8 Dread, minus 2. Oh, I didn't minus 2 from the other one, so I'm actually at 22 out of 23. Is that right?

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

So 22 out of 23 minus 8 Dreads is 16 out of 23. Is that right? Yeah, 22 out of 23 minus 8 dreads, 16 out of 23. We're winning. We're winning, guys.

Speaker 3:

It has 3 attacks.

Speaker 2:

That is pretty light. That is pretty light, oh no, we have to run.

Speaker 3:

There's no way we can beat this thing eight and it has a rake, so oh no, when it hits twice well, when it hits and when it does a critical hit it causes a wound. So you have to resist wounds.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh, that's just a d12 ben vitality check. Yeah, so you have to resist wounds? Oh my gosh, uh, that's, that's just a D 12 Ben.

Speaker 3:

vitality check, yeah, and if you have armor that helps. I'm not sure.

Speaker 1:

Um oh my gosh probably never thought about that. Yep, uh roll advantage with resist wounds I resist.

Speaker 3:

All right, nice. So what are you at 10?

Speaker 1:

Well, I took 8 more damage. I was going to use a quest point and shrug it off once again. Shrug off 2, I shrug off 4 total, so I'm at 12 out of 23. Do we?

Speaker 2:

know that's a Blinks.

Speaker 1:

I mean I lore checked it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, Galen identified it.

Speaker 1:

And I ate it. It's not really a sea creature.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

It's a jungle creature, a jungle cat. That's probably the worst creature in the world. I just don't have anything that can really help us in this situation. I can think of uh, I will, where is right? Yeah, I have an idea. Oh okay, but are you unconscious? Are you alive?

Speaker 1:

I'm alive okay um, I just am unarmed. I have no weapon because I gave the halberd to elmo to defend the ship, I see. So it keeps getting. It's getting worse. We, we have a lot of weapons. You should probably carry more weapons. Well, I mean, I had two and then I was like, oh, I'll give him one for the thing and then I forgot.

Speaker 1:

Um, I want to use, according to plan, once per session, flashback to a past action the loyal chum recently performed offscreen to help their current situation. I am going to suggest that I brought a flare that could. Oh wait, that would be.

Speaker 2:

This could be fun. Are you going to?

Speaker 1:

jaws it. Are you going to fire the flare into its mouth and blow it up no, I brought an emergency flare to alert the ship if we needed help. But obviously, like we're next to potentially enemies, that will see this too and that will create amazing effects it's fine, we'll take it, but I'm going to pull out the flare gun and shoot it because we're in dire straits.

Speaker 3:

Alright, do you have to roll anything for that? I have to roll Tinker.

Speaker 1:

Oh my god, so it's a four. Oh, I should have given you bonuses. I'm sorry. I don't need a bonus for my Tinker Rolls man. I'm plus three.

Speaker 3:

Can't have any more. Yeah, that's it, it just goes.

Speaker 1:

She's just going through her pockets. Got nothing. Maybe I can.

Speaker 3:

You've got exactly one hit on this thing.

Speaker 1:

If it wasn't at disadvantage it'd be more deal-with-able. I just have no equipment. Even if I had a rascal cider, I'd throw it on it so we could see. It's like a fizzy whiz can.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I'm just.

Speaker 3:

Shucks, shucks, bedazzle you, it's your turn, galen.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I guess I didn't go. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so it's done. All it's hits. I'm at 12 out of 23. Should I pick up Riley and run? I think we should run. Alright, I'm going to roll Wilderness. Do Faithful Steed you should just run directly into the ocean and just swim out to sea Because cats hate water. Yeah, I'll pick up Riley, I'll do a tricky maneuver to get FB and I will get between Riley and the cat and say hop on. And then we'll try to get out of here, okay what why?

Speaker 1:

um is this is this a wait? Is this a? Would you consider it a tricky maneuver getting between the cat and Riley?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, would a four help.

Speaker 1:

No, then I have advantage.

Speaker 2:

Hey.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh. I mean, I did you know, I'm just you said it.

Speaker 2:

You understand a lot's at stake in this encounter.

Speaker 1:

We're getting our butts handed to us. That's fine. It's fine. I mean, yeah, you seem like a tricky. It's pretty tricky. No, the cats, I love it. Oh, no, all right. So I got between Riley and the cat and I say come with me if you want to live. I say yes, and then I haul her aboard and we try to flee Flee the scene.

Speaker 3:

All right. As you guys are barreling through the jungle, you feel like a whiff of a claw but doesn't connect, and you guys head for the sea but uh, fb's shell has like tons of claw marks on it.

Speaker 1:

I spend a week buffing it out. It's going to take a whole lot of turtle wax.

Speaker 3:

You guys watch the blinks like that's glimmery shape, like it still has a leash on you oh my god, what do you mean?

Speaker 1:

then I run back, oh, okay I see, I see something about like world of warcraft. Yes, I realize I realize it. Now we're gonna train him over to the uh town guards back. Oh, okay, I see, I see. Yes, I realize it. Now we're going to train him over to the town guards. Let them deal with it, wow.

Speaker 3:

So gross.

Speaker 1:

I guess it would be more like a Stranglethorn Vale kind of thing.

Speaker 3:

All right, productive day. Lots of PvP going on in Terraria.

Speaker 1:

This whole session has been one setback after another. It's perfect, but we've gotten to Terror Island. We're at Terror Island. But you know what I'm going to start? I suggest to Galen that we should start bombarding the island. Yes, yeah, we sail two hexes away, we fire two shots and then we sail back Blasting cannons into the jungle to just kind of soften it up before we get there.

Speaker 2:

I love it.

Speaker 3:

I kind of love this. Just even getting to the middle of the island is like impossible.

Speaker 2:

Good stuff of the island is like impossible.

Speaker 1:

Oh, good stuff, too much good stuff. Um, all right, so what do you think? Like we? We're wounded now. This is, this has been. Uh, holly says the cats have come. Yes, they have Doom cats. The doom cats of the jungles of Terror Island are far superior to Galen and myself.

Speaker 2:

It's true.

Speaker 1:

But now we know what we're dealing with and we'll come back.

Speaker 3:

Weldar waves at you guys kind of confused from the ship. He sees you guys in the water Big cats, weldar the cats, he can't even from the ship.

Speaker 1:

She sees you guys in the water, big cats. Well Dara the cats. You can't even see the cats he's like. I love cats.

Speaker 3:

I'm more of a cat person Was right.

Speaker 1:

This place is really dangerous. We need to think about it how we're going to do this. We need gear.

Speaker 2:

I don't know, I riley's like super shook.

Speaker 1:

She's like you know. We need to just not encounter a blinks, you know, or any of the other nine things, that's true. At least there's not 12 things, because I don't know even how we would fight a magma creature.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I'm not worried about that at all. At least the cat is flesh and blood. Yeah, well, you know We'll fight it with a fire hose. Yeah, like, freeze it, I'm going to get a Squirtle. You know I'm going to say, squirtle, go Use your Hydro Cannon. And you know it's Pokemon. We spend the next season just trying to find a Squirtle.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

I think a Blinks is kind of up in the upper tier of hard things.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean, I'd rather face a Scrockwing at this point.

Speaker 3:

No, no yeah we've done.

Speaker 1:

I'd rather face a Scrockwing at this point. No, no. Yeah, we've done that. It was horrible and we survived.

Speaker 3:

And we did survive.

Speaker 1:

Technically survived. This yeah, we triumphed is how we'll tell the tale of Facing the Blinks. What's up?

Speaker 3:

buddy, my question is you know it's midday. You could try again Venture out into the jungle.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to grab some like rations, like if we have any, like raw meat or fish. Actually, maybe we could like take some fish. Do you have any clams? I still got a Sour Keister clam. Maybe we could take some fish. Do you have any clams? I still got a Sour Keister clam. Maybe we could make some bait to draw predatory creatures away from us as we venture into the jungle. Yeah, that might work.

Speaker 3:

You could spend the rest of the day fishing.

Speaker 1:

It's like looking for tunas, just like piling up into a ship like we have fish. Uh, we're worried to go. Oh yeah, that was a sarkeesian clam. I take it back. That was the fish I've got. A luminous monkfish yeah, I still have. It's been packed in salt. That's sitting in the kitchen right. Blood pibble, what is that? Pebble no, I don't know why I wrote pibble. I was probably being dumb maybe it's a typo all right. No, that was an intentional typo. Well it was. I was being ridiculous to myself I don't get it I don't either.

Speaker 1:

I'm sure I thought it was funny at the time. Most of my notes to myself are incomprehensible to naked eye. You're the only one that can read the minutes. Even then, I can't always. Let's go back. I guess we can go fishing Grab the fish. Maybe we can go fishing and create some bait to lure out anything horrible. Yeah, and more than that. Just you know, recover real quick.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

You spend some time recovering.

Speaker 3:

I'm going to spend the night.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think we should just spend the night on the ship. Yeah, I do him bear. You heard you. Yeah, let's spend the night on the ship and see we can cook. I'll fish while you're cooking, I don't know. Make a wilderness check. Yeah, I can cook up all the fish into a slurry of 13 baby nice where was that? We're totally great rollers when there's nothing at risk, alright well, dar is like.

Speaker 3:

You guys need some help. I guess I should go with you. Seems like you can't handle it without me, you know.

Speaker 1:

I immediately just throw him overboard. What gives?

Speaker 2:

Come on.

Speaker 1:

His body gets wrestled apart by electric eels yeah I say you dropped your sword and I dropped the sword on him hey, my father it's been just swimming around trying to find another bottom, can I?

Speaker 3:

use my cooking to create like a super funky, horrible, like I mean the fish stew.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I rolled a 13.

Speaker 2:

You can pick whatever fish you want I guess, Pick one that sounds smelly.

Speaker 3:

Well, I mean we can take a look at the old cooking recipes.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's true we could like cook them, cook them to do some stuff, boil and mash them and stick them in a stew yeah, I don't have my core rule book open. I don't either. Sorry, please hold, it's not going to be in the core rule book?

Speaker 3:

my friend, it don't either. Sorry, please hold, it's not going to be in the core rulebook my friend.

Speaker 1:

It'll be in those spreadsheets. Dang old, dang old spreadsheets.

Speaker 2:

Oh, of course.

Speaker 1:

Shared with me Crafting maester document. Y'all get some crawl bad disc. You know A mess. So we have fish. Let's pick one. George, pick anything you think is cool. The problem is we have to be in the right region, right?

Speaker 3:

um yeah, so uh, you got skeletal x-train. You know what I mean. You get uh, um, yeah, so uh, you got scatlock strain.

Speaker 1:

you know what I mean. You get, uh that fish locations. There we go, sorry, um, I can get another sarakista clam, it's perfect. Now, uh, narsquall, man-eating warbler, a magma, belly, starfish, luminous monkfish, ghost jaw creeper maybe that, uh, man-eating warbler, let's do it, turn it into a. Maybe that man-eating warbler, let's do it, turn it into a warbler, warbler, warbler, tartar, warbler, tartar feeds the whole party, but watch for bones and teeth, plus one dread.

Speaker 2:

That's cool that's cool, we can hit stuff for like a dread monsters.

Speaker 1:

Yep, um, I think that we, if you want instead to make that into like, or you can take the sarah keister clam and make that into bait. I think that's just completely useless. Yeah, I think I'll do that. I'll make the sour keister clam into bait and then I'll cook up the warbler tartare. Warbler tartare, tartare, warbler tartar uh rule of seven okay see you, holly.

Speaker 3:

Thanks for hanging out, take it easy, holly, all right, cool, so that'll feed the whole. See you, holly. Thanks for hanging out. Take it easy, holly, all right, cool, so that'll feed the whole group and you can roll a d10 for your healing and you'll have plus one dread for the next day.

Speaker 1:

Seven healing, that's nice.

Speaker 3:

James, do you roll a D6 plus your level Courage? I don't think so.

Speaker 1:

I didn't, I'm full.

Speaker 3:

Nice.

Speaker 1:

I am full but wounded.

Speaker 3:

We call that wounded.

Speaker 1:

Wounded. I already used the potion. This man is wounded. Okay, so we've survived a day on Terror Island, something no one thought was possible. Not exactly triumphed, but we exist. We do exist. Are we living?

Speaker 3:

I don't know. Here's my question to you uh, do you want to? You want to end it here? You want to? It might be. I think now is a good time to end it yeah we've just we've refreshed ourselves.

Speaker 1:

We've made it to terror island. We're about to embark with a plan, this time to no, we're not killed by the wildlife.

Speaker 3:

It's gonna the wildlife. You've tasted the danger firsthand.
